Sediments

Water sediments are any transported particle that is deposited as a layer of solid sediments in the water.

Usually in the water of the network,when there is a problem of sediments,these particles come from the deterioration of the water pipes,which generates small particles of organic material, sand or clay that are dragged with the water to the house.

One of the most visible effects when there is a large amount of sediment in the water is that it no longer presents a crystalline image and loses transparency. It is what is known with turbid waters or turbidity in the water.

It can be defined that the function of the sediment filter is the reduction of floating particles in the water of a size that will depend on the type of filter, which allows to significantly improve the problems of turbidity of the water and serves as protection of the following filters of the installation (osmosis equipment, decalcifiers, ...), or of the rest of equipment connected to the mains water such as washing machines, dishwasher, etc.... Its use as the only filter element is usually not enough to improve all water parameters but it is essential in any system.

Filtration capacity

Depending on the size of the particles that the filters are able to retain, they will be classified according to the number of microns of maximum diameter that they will let through. For example, a 50-micron filter will let only particles smaller than 50 microns pass through, retaining all those larger than that size.

Cartridge life

The duration of the cartridges will depend on the quality and quantity of the water passing through the filter. The lower the quality, the less the cartridge will last.
