Description
Filter that is installed at the entrance to the house. It retains soil, mud and suspended particles.
The Sediments
Water sediments are any transported particles that are deposited as a layer of solid sediments in water.
Usually in the water of the network, when there is a sediment problem, these particles come from the deterioration of the water pipes, which generates small particles of organic material, sand or clay that are dragged with the water to the house.
One of the most visible effects when there is a large amount of sediment in the water is that it no longer presents a crystal clear image and loses transparency. This is what is known as turbid water or turbidity in the water.
It can be defined that the function of the sediment filter is the reduction of floating particles in the water of a size that will depend on the type of filter, which allows to significantly improve the turbidity problems of the water and serves as protection of the following filters of the installation (osmosis equipment, water softeners, ...), or of the rest of the equipment connected to the mains water such as washing machines, dishwasher, etc. Its use as the only filtering element is usually not enough to improve all the parameters of the water, but it is essential in any system.
Filtration Capacity
Depending on the size of the particles that the filters are able to retain, they will be classified according to the maximum number of microns in diameter that they will allow to pass through. For example, a 50-micron filter will let through only particles smaller than 50 microns, retaining all particles larger than that size.
Cartridge life
The duration of the cartridges will depend on the quality and quantity of the water passing through the filter. The lower the quality, the less the cartridge will last.
